Wow! I can't believe I am a MOM! It is a dream I have ALWAYS had! I remember playing with dolls and knowing I was meant to be a mother. Last weekend I had my first Mother's Day. It was a day I had dreamed of for so many years, and now it was here! Trent had to feed cows that morning, and let me sleep in. He brought me breakfast when he came home with Brantley. Brantley walked in with my gift and cards. Trent said Brantley helped pick out the gift, and they did so well. I told Trent I wanted something "motherly". They got me a necklace with a baby booty charm, on the booty was Brantley's birthstone and on the back was Brantley's name and birthday. Trent did so good on picking out the cards, I cried because they were so sweet. Trent tried to do a craft with Brantley, but it didn't work out so we will all try together later.

So, how has my life changed since I became a Mom? Well, I can't just pick up and go when ever I want, but I now have the best shopping partners in the world. It takes a lot more time to get out of the door to go run errands, but Brantley is such a good shopper. I can no longer sleep until noon if I want to, but I get woken up to a smiling baby boy. I can no longer stay out until the wee hours of the morning hanging out with friends, but I get to snuggle with my baby boy until we all go to bed. Trent and I can no longer go to dinner and a movie unless we have a sitter, but dinner at home while holding my little one just seems so much better! So, yes my life has been forever changed, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I could just hold and love on my Brantley for the rest of my life and be the happiest woman alive.
Every single day I realize just how lucky I am to have the life that I have. Do we have a million dollars? No, not even close, but what I do have is just what I need. I love being a mom to a beautiful healthy baby boy. I also need to thank some people who have helped me greatly on my new journey as a mommy! First of all I need to thank MY Mommy! She is such a great mother and role model. I know I am the best Mommy I can be all because I had her as an example of how to raise a child. My Mother-in-law has also been a great help. She is so in love with B and has had great advice. To my sister, the girl who always said she was going to be Aunt Cortney, she is an amazing Aunt who is learning as she goes. Brantley is also lucky to have his Aunt Melissa, she too is learning and doing an amazing job helping with Brantley! To all of my other Mommy friends, you have been so helpful in so many ways. I can't even begin to thank each of you. So many of you prayed for us when times were difficult both before birth, during and after birth, also when Brantley was in the ER. We are so incredibly blessed to have each and every one of you!
