Friday Craft Night/ Black Friday!

Well, Trent and I made tonight craft night!  I had in my mind that I wanted miniature trees for my pots on my front porch and I was going to put lights on them.  Well, after shopping for them ALL DAY, and not finding them for less than 20 dollars a piece, we decided to get creative.  Our creativity paid off because what we came up with is SOOOOO much better!  Watch out world Trent and I are on FIRE! HA HA HA!

So, here is how MY Christmas trees started.

We shopped til we dropped.  Brantley is such a great shopper, but we WORE HIM OUT!  Lots of fun at the Rice house today!

9 months old...only 3 more till he is a year old

Well, it is a couple of days late, but Brantley turned 9 months on Friday, October 26th.  I can't believe how fast it is going!  He will get to start celebrating a lot of first holidays this week.  I can't wait for his first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  It is going to be so much fun!  Tomorrow is his first Halloween, and I can't wait!  We will post pictures of him soon.

Brantley went for his 9 month checkup today.  Brantley has gone up in his weight percentile, he is 19 pounds 5 ounces and in the 30th percentile.  Brantley is in the 45th percentile for height at 28 inches.  He is growing so fast!  He is crawling LIKE CRAZY.  He is pulling up, and really really really wants to crawl!

8 months with my sweet boy!

How can my Brantley already be 8 months old?  It doesn't seem possible!  8 months ago today we welcomed our sweet baby boy!

The day Brantley was born, actually about 10 minutes old!  He is such a blessing!

Now, 8 months later he is getting so big, and he is SO MUCH FUN!  I never knew staying home doing nothing could be so much fun.  Sure my house always looks like a bomb went off, but Trent and I are going to enjoy EVERY minute with our little man.  So, if you come to our house, expect a very messy house because I am too busy playing with my son!

A lot is going on in Brantley's development.  He finally has TEETH!  We started trying to cut teeth at 2 months, and they just now came through.  Bless his heart, they aren't all the way up, but have made it up out of his gums.  He now crawls, but there is a catch, ONLY BACKWARDS.  He gets that from his Aunt Cortney!  He is working so hard on crawling forward.  It is going to happen any day now.  He ate his first solid solid, cereal puffs.  He isn't too thrilled with them, but loves to play with them and thinks it is a game.   Brantley also took his first real bath.  He also went to the park to swing for the first time.

Trent was trying to distract him, but didn't move the bear fast enough.  Brantley's face is too cute here!

He has a "sister" from another mother, Ruby.  He loves Ruby, and Ruby loves him.  Ruby is our babysitters daughter and they play so well together.

Last but not least, Uncle Darren's Birthday is today.  Of course, he is in South Texas since they live there now.  Brantley made him a card and took some pictures.

7 Months later...

So, how has this year gone so fast?  Today my baby is 7 months old!  This year is going way too fast!  I feel like Brantley was just born.  This month was such a great month.  We had our first vacation, he is sitting all by his self, he can go from laying down to sitting up on his own, and he is scooting on his back.  I am not sure he will ever crawl like a normal baby, but is really good at scooting across the floor on his back.  He does also do some army crawling, but would rather scoot on his back.  Tonight he took his first bath sitting up instead of being propped up in the baby bath.  He is such a happy baby.  Everyone who sees him is amazed by how happy he is.

Brantley has a new babysitter this school year, and he seems really happy there.  Melany is her name, and she sends me lots of videos and pictures.  I love that I get to be with Brantley while I am not with him.  Melany has a daughter of her own that is about 19 months old.  She also watches an almost 5 month old baby girl.  Ruby is her daughter and Ruby just loves him.  I love seeing her get excited when he shows up every morning.  School starts again tomorrow, and so I have to drop him off earlier than I did last week.  Last week I had time to play with Brantley and Ruby before I went to work, but who knows if I will have time for that now that school is starting.

And now for the pictures we all look forward to....   By the way, they are getting VERY hard to take.  He wants to touch everything in his sight!

6 months of being a Mommy

I can remember playing house as a little girl.  I always had to be the Mommy.  I never wanted to be the child or the Aunt, only the Mommy!   I have just always known that Mommy was a job that I must have!  I knew that it would be the most amazing job any woman could have, but I didn't know how amazing it would be when I finally had my dream come true!  6 months ago my number 1 goal in life became a reality, I became a Mother!  There is no better feeling then when your child is born.  I hope that every woman gets to experience this feeling because it is truly amazing!

6 months ago, this is the first time I held my gift from God!

We are finally a family!

He is such a blessing!

Now 6 months later I still feel just as blessed.  I thank God EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for my sweet boy!  I pray for him every night.  I pray that the lord will keep him safe, healthy, happy, and help him grow up to be an amazing man that makes good life choices.  Every day I look at Brantley and I could burst into a million pieces because of the intense love I feel for him!  I hope that he feels the intense love that Trent and I have for him.  I am so sad that time is going so fast, but love playing with my boy every day!  He is so stinking happy!  His giggle makes every problem in the world disappear!

So, something I forgot to add in my last post is that Dr. Rue wanted us to start Brantley on cereal.  I wanted to cry as soon as the words came out of her mouth.  Just another example of how quickly he is growing.  So, Trent and I decided to try it last night.  Brantley is NOT a fan so far, but we will keep trying.  Here are some super cute pictures of the first time my little guy ate "food".  Dreading the fact he keeps growing!
